The EXPERIENCE

Join us at Cocoon Portugal - a 275 acre coastal farm and retreat, offering inspiration and community. Sheep, goats, peacocks and chickens roam the grounds and between the oversized hammocks and the freshwater lake, you’ll start to lose track of time. Located in coastal Alentejo, an unspoilt region where much of the coastline is protected by a natural reserve. The nearest town is the charming Vila Nova de Milfontes.

The coast, a 10 min drive or leisurely cycle away, is ideal for swimming, surfing and hiking along the gorgeous sandstone bluffs. Start your days with a yoga practice outside on a gorgeous platform beneath a canopy of old growth pines or inside at Cocoon’s plant filled studio outfitted with all the props.

Spend mid-day exploring, venturing out to the coastline, taking a surf lesson, going horseback riding, getting a massage or wandering around the local fishing town. We highly recommend renting a car (cheap & easy in Portugal!) to explore the area during your free time!

Meeting again for a community dinner. Celebrating each evening with a sustainable and locally sourced menu, world class wine and dinner conversation. Post dinner enjoy some incredible star gazing or go for a late night skinny dip in the lake!

The BEDS

Clean + elegant rooms - each one opens to an outdoor courtyard.

Private and shared accommodation is available, and can be situated well for snugglers or snorers.  We have options for single, double or triple rooms with ensuite bathrooms.

Fly solo and enjoy some private time to reconnect, come with a pal or partner and enjoy each other’s company or share a room with another retreatee & make a new friend!

The FOOD

We believe that a nourishing meal and a delicious feast don’t need to be exclusive of one another. The food is local, with most of the produce coming from either the property or a nearby farm. They serve eggs from their own chickens, locals cheeses, and occasionally wild-caught Atlantic fish.

A typical breakfast includes eggs, local fruit, Greek yogurt, homemade granola, local honey, homemade jam, slow-rise bread.

Lunch is often a bowl; a base of ancient grains like farro, topped with avocado, roasted veggies, nori, or mixed greens.

For dinner, expect Indian and Japanese curries, Mediterranean stews, legumes, rice, salad and dessert. There is also an outdoor, wood-fired Pizza oven and we’ll have one pizza night together during our stay!

They are comfortable with accommodating dietary restrictions such as gluten free and vegan.

***No alcohol is provided, but local wine and beer are available for purchase on the property.

This retreat takes place in September of 2024.  Each day is balanced between group activities, and plenty of free time to do as you wish. Everything is optional: you can get into as much or as little as you want.

Practice. Some days it'll be a more restorative/yin/somatic and some more active. Other days we'll skip practice and go on a group adventure!

• Airport Transfer -  You are responsible for getting to and from retreat center. We strongly recommend renting a car

• Rental Car - It is great to have a car here! please rent one so that you can have the freedom to explore the area

• Wine + Beer - You will have the opportunity to purchase wine and beer but it is not included in the retreat price

• Meals Out - We may go out to lunch or dinner once or twice. These meals are not included in the cost of the retreat

Flights to and from Portugal, car rental (highly recommended and we can help arrange sharing among retreat goers!), transportation to retreat center (2hr. drive from Lisbon), alcohol and snacks not on the menu, surfing lessons, horse back riding, and other activities outside of retreat, travel insurance.

These bright white rooms have gorgeous natural light and a simple but fresh feeling. The Bathroom is shared at the end of the hall with the other surrounding rooms. You will share this room with one other guest and bath with one other room. Please keep in mind that each booking is priced per person, not per room. All bedrooms open onto an outdoor patio.
